Heat treatment technology for machine tool castings

Annealing treatment:
Purpose: To reduce the hardness of metal materials, improve plasticity, and facilitate cutting or pressure processing; Reduce residual stress and improve the uniformity of tissue and composition; Prepare the organization for subsequent heat treatment.
Types: including recrystallization annealing, stress relief annealing, spheroidization annealing, etc.
Normalization treatment:
Purpose: To improve the strength and hardness of castings and enhance their cutting performance.
Quenching treatment:
Purpose: To improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of castings. But after quenching, stress is easily generated inside the casting, and it needs to be used in conjunction with tempering treatment.
tempering:
Purpose: To eliminate quenching stress, stabilize casting size, improve toughness and tensile strength.
